Effects Of Uric Acid On The Body, And 8 Surprising Foods That Help To Keep Gout In Check

One of the most throbbing forms of arthritis is gout. This condition is triggered by excess uric acid accumulated in the body. Usually, gout occurs as a result of unhealthy diet and it affects men more often than women.

The normal levels of uric acid are 2.4-6.0 mg/dL in women and 3.4-7.0 mg/dL in men. The excess uric acid in the blood is known as Hyperuricemia. Usually, it happens as a result of an abnormal uric acid production in the body, or as a result of lower excretion of it through the kidneys.

These irregular amounts of uric acid cause build up of uric corrosive gems in the joints and other body parts, as well as many health conditions, such as gout.

People who suffer from gout go through a catalyst abandon which impedes the purine separation process.

Factors That Lead to High Levels of Uric Acid

These levels of uric acid can be caused by diabetes or acidosis, hypothyroidism, excessive liquor consumption, diet rich in purines, renal inadequacy, hereditary factors, chemotherapy tumors, and different type of medications, such as diuretics.

Avoid These Foods

Uric acid can be eliminated from the body by consuming food rich in fiber. It is highly important to avoid fried and processed food, which is high in fat and calories.  Fiber rich foods can lower uric acid levels, such as kiwi, peas, mushrooms, lentil, beans, bananas, avocados, pineapple, high fructose corn syrup, oranges, pears, apples, alcohol, especially beer.

Olive Oil and Coconut Oil

Try to avoid processed vegetables oils because they are rich in unhealthy fats. Moreover, eliminate vitamin C from the body. It is very important at controlling uric acid levels.

Opt for cold-pressed olive oil or coconut oil rather than using vegetable oil, butter or shortening in your cooking and baking.

What to consume?

Tomatoes, bell peppers, strawberries, blueberries and other vitamin C rich foods should be consumed because they include a great content of antioxidants. Also, you can start drinking green papaya tea since it is highly recommended.

Baking Soda

In a glass of water add half a teaspoon of baking soda. Drink four glasses of this mixture every day, for two weeks. You can drink it every two hours.

Drinking minimum 8-10 glasses of water throughout the day is advisable. Consuming great amounts of water will remove the surplus uric acid from the body and will decrease the risk of reappearing gout attacks.

Another alternative is to mix apple cider vinegar with water. This liquid is also good for removing excess waste from the body, including uric acid. In a glass of water add one teaspoon of raw and organic apple cider vinegar. Consume the mixture 2-3 times on a daily basis.

Lemon juice

In a glass of warm water add the squeezed juice of one lemon. Drink it every morning on an empty stomach. Redo the procedure for 4 weeks minimum.
