Stye is a kind of infection triggered by bacteria. It is small and painful bump that comes out on the eyelashes, eyelids, or under them. It causes severe pain and itching.
The first symptom of this condition is formation of small yellowish lump loaded with pus. Other symptoms of a stye are: swollen eyelids, redness, tenderness of skin, itchiness and tenderness, scratchy feeling on the eyeball, blurred vision, watery eyes, discomfort while blinking, etc.
The main cause of eye styes is the infection of Meibomian gland, which is present on the eyelids. Abnormal functioning of this gland may lead to dry eye. Other causes are poor hygiene, eyelids inflammation, poor nutrition, touching your eyes with dirty hands, dehydration, lack of sleep, rubbing eyes, sharing cosmetics, not cleaning your makeup before going to sleep, using expired cosmetics, etc.
Usually, eye styes diminish in two weeks.

Home Remedies for Eye Styes
Although it is one of the most disgusting remedies, ear wax can be very effective in treating styes. Extract some ear wax and apply it on the affected area. It will help you relieve itchiness.
Cucumber gives immediate relief with its soothing effect. You just need to apply a cucumber slice on the infected eye in order to decrease irritation.
First, separate the yolk from a raw egg. Put the egg white on a clean cloth and then place the cloth on the affected area. Let the cloth sit for 15 minutes. Do this method three times.
Several health problems, including skin issues, such as eczema, acne, etc, can be healed with urine. Also, urine can be used for treating an eye stye. Apply it on the infected eye area and repeat the process 3-4 times a day.
Make a compress of a handful of spinach to treat your stye. Boil the compress and apply it on the affected area for 30 minutes. Repeat the method three times a day to speed the process of healing.
Herbal Remedies for Eye Stye
This extraordinary herb has been used for many years for healing illnesses inside and outside the body.
Boil 2 cups of water until it reduces to half. Then, add a teaspoon of turmeric powder in it and stir the mixture well. Strain the liquid until it becomes cleans. Now you can use it as an eye drop. Apply 1-2 drops of turmeric water in your eyes twice daily.
Also, you can consume a cup of warm milk in which you should add half a teaspoon of turmeric powder to lower the risk of infection.
Take an aloe Vera leaf and extract its pulp. Then, apply it in the infected area for some time. Clean it with normal water.
Black Tea Bag
Place some tea bags in warm water and then put them on the eye stye. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Tea includes tannic acid which will aid shrink the stye and decrease its size to half. Repeat this 4-5 times daily for best results.
Castor oil is effective in treating several skin problems. You need to put some drops of castor oil on a cotton pad/ball and place it on your stye. Do this two times a day to get rid of the problem quickly. Castor oil’s heat opens up the pores of eyelids.
In 250 ml of water add one tablespoon of dried calendula petals. Let them boil for a couple of minutes. Then, strain the mixture and soak a clean washcloth in it. Apply the washcloth on your stye until it cools down. Repeat the method three times a day.
10 grams of horsetail
25 grams of chamomile
10 grams of thyme
Boil the ingredients in a liter of water and steep for few minutes. Strain the liquid and use it as a compress to cure the stye.
