Whey is a by-product of the production of cheese. It is rich in lactic acid and enzymes, high-quality protein, vitamins B6, B2, B12, K, C, minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus, amino acids, and it is low in calories.
People have long used whey to stimulate appetite and digestion, and modern science has found that it prevents hypertension, stroke, andheart attack, regulates cholesterol, increases muscle mass, prevents osteoporosis, strengthens immunity, reduces stress, and provides enough energy.
Whey powder is obtained by industrial processing of milk and it is nothing like homemade whey.
Make Your Own Homemade Whey
Cook a liter of raw milk, and add some lemon juice while it is still hot. Juice a whole lemon.
Stir well and let it rest until you see some greenish translucent liquid separating from the curd. That is your whey. Strain and pour it in a glass bottle. Keep it in the fridge.
This process gives you two amazing products – whey and delicious, homemade cottage cheese.
Drink 0.5-1 liter of whey every day.
Stir a tablespoon of whey powder in a glass of water, and drink it at least three times a day.
