According to the Chinese culture and medicine, our feet include many important locations, points that are linked to different parts and organs of our body. When these points are stimulated and massaged, they may bring relief and improve your health condition.
Tai Chong is one of the essential points that are located in the feet, between the big toe and the second toe, around two finger widths above the point where the skin of the big toe and the next toe connect.
This point’s massage helps in treating headaches, decreasing stress levels, anger control, lower back pain, high blood pressure, easing menstrual cramps, limb pain, anxiety and insomnia. Moreover, this will help you regulate and refresh the liver.
Chinese texts say this massage is beneficial for problems with digestion, genital pain, headaches, canker sores, eye problems and irritability.
Scientists prove that an experiment showed a positive result with acupuncture stimulation on Tai Chong and other points in managing post-stroke depression. Moreover, animal studies showed that this point can lower blood pressure and plasma endothelin–1 levels in hypertension subjects.
This is how you need to stimulate this point if you want to use all the benefits:
Glide your finger along the space between the first and second toe to the tip of the joint. Tai Chong is located in the slump before your finger touches the bone.
After you locate it, press and massage for 2-3 seconds and pause for 5 seconds. Do this massage for 2 minutes.
Don’t forget to move your finger in a counterclockwise direction over this point.
